Magnanimus Platino, from Mayo Casanova wineries in Vilafamés, a Globbarea company, has been awarded the prize to the best wine in Castellon province. 16 regional wineries took part in this second edition of the contest, with a jury of best Castellon sommeliers. Some other wines were also distinguished with an award, many of them of Globbarea companies too: Baron d’Alba, Agrotaula, Vicente Flors, Bodega Les Useres, Bodega San Juan, Destilerías Vidal, Mas de Rander and Masía de la Hoya.
Castellon wines have excellent quality to compete in any market, both national and internationally. In recent years Castellon wine sector has been committed to the investigation and use of new technology, both to increase its product offer and to know the market trends. Its challenge for the near future is continuing to open new markets, bringing Castellon wines around the world and winning new clients.
The surface devoted to vineyards in the province is 1.343 hectares, of which about 500 are located in Vilafames and Useres villages.
