Two olive oils from Spanish Palancia region awarded international prizes in Los Angeles

Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition began seven decades ago to reward the best wines in Los Angeles International Wine Competition, but it wasn’t until the year 2000 when the organization decided to create this international award to honor the world best extra virgin olive oils. This year 2013 it has celebrated its 14th edition, in which two of our province extra virgin olive oils have been awarded a prize.

On the one hand, the “Aceite de Lágrima”, (tear olive oil) produced by Cooperativa de Viver, has been rewarded doubly, with a silver medal in the category of Spanish single variety olive oil and an absolute bronze medal for the Packaging Design, a new packaging which was presented some weeks ago at the “Salon Gourmet” Exhibition in Madrid with very good acceptance.

On the other hand, 50K extra virgin olive oil by Orbeolive has been awarded a silver medal in the Robust class (fruity intense), prize that highlights the quality of this olive oil and its high level of fruity.

They are prestigious awards that have been granted to these Spanish companies among hundreds of olive oils presented this year, from 15 countries with important olive oil tradition, such as Israel, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Turkey, USA, among others.
