Bodega Les Useres won gold medal in Canada

Bodega Les Useres, with his wine Winegrowers 86, won the gold medal in the international awards Sélections Mondiales des Vins, in Canada, an important recognition for the quality of its product. The competition, the largest in North America, with over twenty years of existence, has international recognition and it is promoted by the International Organization of Vine and Wine. The Castellón winery, thanks to this distinction, aims to consolidate its products in the Canadian market where it has been working several years. 

The Castellon brand also participated in the II Wine Fair of Les Useres in Spain, where participants could taste the wines L'Alcalatén, Route 33 and Winegrowers 86; they also took part of the tastings and presentations in the fair.

4th “Castellon Best “Wines” Awards


On Saturday 23rd February the annual “Best Castellon Wines” award ceremony took place in the city of Castellón. This event, organized by the Association of Sommeliers of Castellón (ASUCAP), recognizes the most outstanding wines from the provincial wineries.
Currently the province of Castellón has 14 wineries and more than 60 wines. "But much remains to be done," explained from the association, "we need a recognition, which is slowly recovering thanks to the work done both from the private sector and institutions, demonstrating the value of the province product through the IGP “vinos de Castellon” (Castellon wines).

ASUCAP considers the quality of the wines of the province of Castellón is being proved, as well as sales show "since they keep increasing, as well as exports throughout the world," they say.
The event was chaired by leading institutional representatives at the regional, provincial and local levels, and was attended by wine industry experts, who carried out the corresponding blind tastings, and by a large audience.
Globbarea companies that were awarded prizes in the contest were:

Silver medals: Magnanimvs Blanco (Bodegas Mayo Garcia) and Clos d’Esgarracordes Blanco (Bodegas Baron d’Alba)

Young red wines:

Silver medals: Magnanimvs Platino (Bodega Mayo Garcia) and Clotàs (Bodega Flors)

Special wine: 
Gold medal: Red mistela (sweet muscat wine) by Mas de Rander

The Castellon Wine Route presented at Fitur Tourism exhibition


The launch of the website www.rutadelvinocastellon.com and a promotional video pave the way to the commercialization of this new wine tourism product


Castellon Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation presented yesterday at FITUR 2013 the Castellón Wine Route. The event coincided with the Day of the Valencian Region and served as the starting point for the promotion of the initiative launched by the Chamber of Commerce in September 2011 under the Hidden European project.


The Route is directed by a non-profit organization responsible for the planning, management and marketing. 15 companies from the Les Useres-Vilafamés area, between wineries, traditional retail shops, hotels and restaurants are participating in the project.

During the presentation they outlined the promotional media that will help promote this tourist product to the end customer and that will serve as a sales force for travel agents: the website www.rutadelvinocastellon.com, a promotional video, a facebook fan page and a youtube channel where the companies will promote their services.

The objectives of the Wine Route are the promotion of wines and other regional deli products, the preservation of natural, historical and cultural heritage, improving business competitiveness and economic diversification. Castellón province concentrates 50% of the rural accommodation offer of Valencia, with excellent facilities and restaurants, and a growing industry of regional delicacies including wine, especially in Les Useres-Vilafamés Area.

The Wine Route brings together a wide range of services: visiting wineries and museums, tasting of typical local products, accommodation and catering.

Bodega Flors produces 3 red wines of excellent quality:

- Flor de Clotas wine: aged for 5 months in American and French oak barrels, made from 100% Tempranillo variety.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Cherry coloured, with a medium-to-dark robe.
Aroma: Balsamic, with a later emergence of truffles, liquorice, cocoa, and stewed red fruit.
Taste: Moreish, with well-rounded tannins and a taste that lingers on in the mouth.
Wine pairing suggestions: Full-fat cheeses, Mediterranean cured meats, soups, stews, and lamb.

Spanish red wine, Spanish wineries- Clotas wine: 14 months aging in French and American oak, made with two varieties 85% Tempranillo and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tasting notes:
Colour: An intense red-coloured wine with a hint of cherry, revealing its youth.
Aroma: A powerful bouquet initially, with strong ripe fruit aromas and a hint of fruits of the forest. When the wine is allowed to breathe, the oak cask is noticeable, with a touch of different spices, like cinnamon, cloves and vanilla.
Taste: Initially dry but not rough, giving way to tannins that increase in the mouth before concluding in a ripe fruit finish with a touch of fine wood.

- Clotas M wine: 14 months aging in French and American oak, made from 100% Monastrell variety from 70-year-old vines.

Spanish red wines wineries Tasting notes: Red cherry, the aroma hints of candied red fruit, smoke and toasted. In the mouth soft, pleasant tannins and good structure, when evolving nuances of berries and smoked reappear.

GLOBBAREA WINERIES AWARDED PRIZE AT “BEST CASTELLON WINES 2012”


On Saturday 3rd March the annual “Best Castellon Wines 2012” award ceremony took place in Castellón. This event, organized by the Association of Sommeliers of Castellón, recognizes the most outstanding wines from 20 provincial wineries.

The awards were presented by Alberto Fabra, President of the Valencian Regional Government, who said Castellón wines "are a national and international reference that strengthen the wine offer in the region".

The President appreciated the effort and dedication of the people "who make it possible for the excellence of our wines to be known beyond our borders, taking the name of the Castellón province and the Valencian Region all over the world".


It should be noted that wine exports from Castellón province in 2011 experienced an increase of 120 percent compared to 2010.

The winning wines this time were:

White wines:
Gold medal: Magnanimvs Blanco (Bodegas Mayo Garcia)
Silver Medal: Alcovi Blanco (Bodegas Alcovi)

Young red wines: 
Gold medal: Clos d´Esgarracordes (Bodegas Baron d’Alba)

Aging red wines:
Gold medal: Vega Palancia (Bodegas Vega Palancia)
Silver medals: La Perdición (Bodega Di Vinos y Viñas), Clotàs (Bodega Flors), Magnanimvs Platino (Bodega Mayo Garcia), Señorío de Almedíjar (Bodega Alcoví) y Barranc de l’Infern (Vinya Natura).

Spanish winery awards. Bodega Les Useres is recognized as best national winery


On May 14 2011 BODEGA LES USERES was awarded BEST NATIONAL WINERY at FECOES (Spanish Federation of Wine and Gastronomy Guilds) national awards 2011. This sixth edition took place in Laredo which is located in Cantabria province, and was dedicated to the Spanish culinary crafts.

This award recognizes the long tradition of wine in Les Useres village and also celebrates the 50th anniversary of Les Useres Winery current creation which has expanded and modernized to meet its growing needs by using the best technology for the production of red, white and rosé wines as well as for maturation in oak barrels.

The permanent effort, perseverance, patience, continuous investment and ambition to do things right, have allowed it to endure and grow over time.

With technology, research and experience, Bodega Les Useres control all stages of production; from cultivation and manual harvesting, to wine processing and bottling and later marketing, thereby preserving the uniqueness of all its products.
