Agua de Benassal company receives a quality and taste award from the most prestigious chefs and sommeliers in Europe

The International Institute of Taste and Quality (iTQi) awarded Agua de Benassal company the exclusive Crystal Taste Award at its annual awards ceremony, held on the 31st May in Brussels. This award is reserved for products that obtain the top of three stars of the Superior Taste Award for 3 consecutive years, from 2010 to 2012.

The iTQi is an independent organization of chefs and sommeliers dedicated to tasting and promoting food and drinks with the highest international quality. The  jury is composed of representatives of the 13 most prestigious culinary institutions in Europe, as Maîtres Cuisiniers of France and Belgium, Culinary Acadamy of Arts, Chefs Federation of Spain, Federazione Italiana dei Cuochi, Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe, Hellenic Chef's Association, Verband der Köche Deutschlands, Euro-Toques or the Association of Sommellerie Internationale (ASI).

The Crystal Taste Award is an exclusive award shared only with three other Spanish brands in the last years: the 5J Sanchez Romero Carvajal pure Iberian ham, Lacturale milk and Mondariz mineral water. All these products have been assessed for three consecutive years by three different juries with a score above 90%, which means a consistent test of excellence.

Oil producer SEGORBE NOSTRUM double winner of the Valencian Region Olive Oil Competition (Spain)

Segorbe Nostrum, oil produced by the Cooperativa San Isidro de Segorbe has been awarded for the second year in a row two prices: Best Ripe Fruit Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Segorbe Nostrum Suave), and Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Designation of Origin "Oils from Valencia Region," at the XVIIth Competition on Extra Virgin Olive Oil that has taken place in Utiel (Spain). 

The President of the Cooperativa San Isidro de Segorbe, Mr. Jose Molés, showed his gratitude and satisfaction for the prize to the numerous audience: "we finally picked the fruit that rewards the hard work of many years. The innovation and the incorporation of new production techniques, as well as the production of Segorbe Nostrum oil 100% made with Serrana Espadán olives, have been the key for obtaining this excellent product”.

GLOBBAREA WINERIES AWARDED PRIZE AT “BEST CASTELLON WINES 2012”

On Saturday 3rd March the annual “Best Castellon Wines 2012” award ceremony took place in Castellón. This event, organized by the Association of Sommeliers of Castellón, recognizes the most outstanding wines from 20 provincial wineries.

The awards were presented by Alberto Fabra, President of the Valencian Regional Government, who said Castellón wines "are a national and international reference that strengthen the wine offer in the region".

The President appreciated the effort and dedication of the people "who make it possible for the excellence of our wines to be known beyond our borders, taking the name of the Castellón province and the Valencian Region all over the world".

It should be noted that wine exports from Castellón province in 2011 experienced an increase of 120 percent compared to 2010.

The winning wines this time were:

White wines:
Gold medal: Magnanimvs Blanco (Bodegas Mayo Garcia)
Silver Medal: Alcovi Blanco (Bodegas Alcovi)

Young red wines: 
Gold medal: Clos d´Esgarracordes (Bodegas Baron d’Alba)
Silver medals: Temps Roure (Bodega Más de Rander)  y Arrels de Bocoi (Intercoop)

Aging red wines:
Gold medal: Vega Palancia (Bodegas Vega Palancia)
Silver medals: La Perdición (Bodega Di Vinos y Viñas), Clotàs (Bodega Flors), Magnanimvs Platino (Bodega Mayo Garcia), Señorío de Almedíjar (Bodega Alcoví) y Barranc de l’Infern (Vinya Natura).

BODEGA LES USERES, AWARDED A PRIZE IN CHINA

The excellent red wine by Bodega Les Useres wineries "L'Alcalaten Tempranillo - Cabernet Sauvignon Guarda 2007", a blend of these two varieties, aged in oak barrels for one year, has been awarded a Silver Medal in the 2012 edition “China Wine Awards”, becoming the first wine in the Castellón province awarded a prize in the Asian giant.

BODEGA LES USERES AT PROWEIN TRADE FAIR

Bodega Les Useres continues its internationalization process, started three years ago, with another milestone in the history of wine in the province. They exhibited their wines for the first time ever in Castellón wineries in the most important fair in Europe: PROWEIN.
